Monk mode built the body. Now become a Regular.
A 6-week program for making real friends, the kind who make you better. With the exact lines to say.

of men in the US said they had no close friends.1
It went from 3% to 15% in thirty years. Not a personality flaw: adult life just stopped putting the same people in front of you every week.

50 hours
of time together turns an acquaintance into a casual friend. Around 200 makes a close one.2
That's why one place you go every week beats a hundred one-off conversations.
They thought I was weird.
Actually: After a first conversation, people underestimate how much the other person liked them. Shy people most of all.3
Talking to a stranger will be miserable.
Actually: Commuters who did it rated it their most pleasant ride, not their worst. Nobody got snubbed.4
Not just anyone.
The people around you rub off on you, for better or worse. So the goal isn't more people to drink with. It's a few who are going somewhere.
- 36%
less likely to smoke, for people whose friend had just quit. Habits travel through friendships, good ones and bad ones.6
- +0.3 km
run by people on days their friends ran an extra kilometer, across 1.1 million runners. Effort is contagious.7
- 25%
higher chance of being happy when a friend who lived nearby became happy.8
- 50%
better odds of survival for people with strong social ties, across 148 studies. Friends are a health habit.9
What a real one looks like
- Shows up. Same place, same time, most weeks.
- Is working on something: training, a skill, school, a job.
- Remembers what you told him last week, and asks.
- Tells you the truth, even when you don't want it.
- You leave better than you came.
Not worth the hours
- Only around when there's drinking.
- Clowns you for trying to get better.
- Only texts when he's bored.
- Leaves you worse off than you came.
Regular sends you where the first kind already are: your gym slot, the climbing wall, the run club, the mats.
Predict it. Do it. Watch the gap.
Before every rep you guess how awkward it'll be, in blue. After, you log the real number, in gold. Try the first half now.
Rep 1: say “thanks” to a cashier, loud enough that they actually hear it.
Friends come from showing up.
In a classic study of student housing, people mostly became friends with whoever lived closest. So in week 2 you pick a home base: one place you go at the same time every week. Most reps happen there.5
Six weeks, one step at a time.
3-4 reps a week. Start with a loud "thanks." End with a real hangout. Stuck? Repeat the week. Nothing resets.
Week 1Get seen
Greetings, thanks, eye contact. Levels below this if you need them.
Week 2Small talk
Two-line conversations. Pick your home base.
You have a home base and a time you go.
Week 3Learn names
At your home base: names, follow-up questions, keeping it going.
Week 4Join the group
Same faces, longer talks, and joining a group that’s already formed.
A few people there know your name.
Week 5The invite
Suggest something small: “Want to train together sometime?”
Week 6Make it real
One actual hangout, planned or done.
One real hangout, planned or done.
Gold lines are what each stage builds toward. Targets, not promises.
Your first rep, word for word.
Every rep comes in three sizes. Pick the one you'll actually do today.
Say “thanks” to a cashier or someone holding a door, loud enough that they actually hear it.
Tip: Look at them for the whole sentence, not at the counter.
Six weeks from now, you have good people.

Questions
Is this a subscription?
No. $19 once, and the program and your log are yours to keep.
How much time does it take?
3-4 reps a week. Most take under a minute and fit into things you already do: the gym, getting coffee, a class. Logging one takes about 10 seconds.
Is it a pickup or dating thing?
No. Every rep works the same with a 50-year-old guy at the gym. The goal is friends and a group.
What if I'm really anxious?
Week 1 starts lower than most people expect, and every rep has an easy version. If anxiety is stopping you from leaving the house, talk to a professional too. Regular is practice, not therapy.
Does it work on Android and laptop?
Yes. It runs in any browser on iPhone, Android or a computer. You log in with a link sent to your email, no password, and your log follows you between devices.
What if it's not for me?
Email hello@joinregular.app within 30 days and you get your money back. No questions.
